Scope

The special session, entitled Advances in Sustainable Economics and Technology (ASET 2023), is concerned with state-of-the-art ideas, projects, research results, models, experiences, applications, etc., in the field of sustainable economics. The forum focuses on examining the relationship between the latest advancements and the intersecting branches of knowledge, ranging from new technologies to new sociological and organisational developments. The session will be held in Guimarães (Portugal) as part of the 20th International Conference on Distributed Computing and Artificial Intelligence 2023.

Topics

The concern for sustainability transcends today's society and it is, therefore, toady’s effort that will enable sustainability among future generations. In these new times, sustainability research is closely tied to the progress of society itself. Advances in sustainability principally concern environmental, economic and social aspects. Hence its transcendent involvement in issues related to care for the environment or the moral order. Countless fields of technology evidence the importance of sustainability; in fact, the connection between sustainability and technological development is crucial for social development.

There are several emerging themes with great potential for economic and technological sustainability, related to the universal impact of sustainability, environmental variables and the new technological era.

Therefore, the forum offers a space for debate on economic and technological sustainability in relation to different organisations and societies’ capacity to manage the resources at their disposal so as to generate responsible long-term profitability.
